For those of us who are citizens aged 18 or older, National Service will offer non-combat work at home. We will earn $30 an hour plus benefits for a 32-hour week. After two years, we will receive a one-time, tax-free $100,000 payment to use as we choose, with the option to stay in the service. Once we pass this proposal, I will do that work after Congress too.

Those of us who are citizens living in Ohio will have healthcare through Americare, including dental, vision, and end-of-life care. Our medical professionals will decide our treatment. We will train more caregivers and modernize hospitals. I don’t have health insurance today. I need this coverage too.

If your employer replaces you with artificial intelligence, it will owe you five years of full pay and owe the federal government $25,000 for each worker it replaces. New data centers will have to protect your Ohio community’s water, power supplies, and environment to receive approval.

We need reliable power for our homes, our work, and the businesses we build here in Ohio. Over 20 years, we will build nuclear power and supporting infrastructure to replace fossil fuels and meet future demand. We will expand domestic fuel production for use here and trade with our allies. Actual energy needs will determine how many plants we build.

If you’re immigrating to the United States, six new border entry towns will give you a place to live, work, learn English, and prepare for citizenship before making your home in communities such as ours in Ohio. We will establish American English as the country’s official language.

As Ohio voters, we will help decide whether a war continues through a nationwide vote within two weeks of its declaration. Those of us serving in the military will vote too.

Your Ohio public schools will receive full funding for teaching, meals, transportation, and higher teacher pay. You will have access to preschool childcare through National Service. If you attend a public state college in Ohio as an Ohio resident, your tuition will be capped at $60,000 for four years.

If you rent in Ohio, your monthly rent will be capped at 1.5% of your home’s purchase price. We will limit how many single-family homes corporations can own. Apartment buildings will be treated separately from that ownership limit.

When you apply for a home or a car in Ohio, you will get a clear explanation of how your credit score was calculated. You will get an explanation of every factor. When you report a correction, the credit agency will have to make it within 14 days.

If you manufacture products in Ohio, you will have access to grants and National Service support to upgrade your equipment and reduce pollution. You will be able to work in a factory without sacrificing your community’s air or water.

As Ohio voters, we will help decide whether the federal government puts money into the stock market. Members of Congress and their families will be banned from trading stocks. That will include me and my family.

Our medical care, energy supply, and technology will benefit from publicly funded artificial intelligence research, including research in physics. We will fund that work for the public’s benefit, including those of us living and working here in Ohio.

If you farm in Ohio, you will have access to grants and National Service help. We will work with park rangers and your community to clean up public lands and cities, including the parks and waterways you use here.

You can have up to $1 billion in personal wealth available to spend; amounts above that will be taxed. Money you borrow and can spend will count toward the limit. You will keep your companies, shares, voting rights, and physical property. Owning an Ohio business alone will not trigger the limit.

We will not be policed by artificial intelligence in Ohio. We will ban its use in domestic policing and offensive weapons on American soil. A human will have to approve any offensive attack by a physical or digital weapon. Automated systems will still be permitted to intercept foreign attacks to defend us.

Our daily movements in Ohio will be off-limits to government mass surveillance using artificial intelligence, facial recognition, or other identifying physical data. Companies will be banned from supplying or running those systems for our local governments.

We will rank candidates in our order of preference in federal, state, and local elections. We will have secure online voting and a vote on major policies. Our votes for president here in Ohio will count in a national popular vote, replacing the Electoral College.

We will vote in elections with strict campaign spending limits, no hidden political funding, and no groups raising unlimited money to influence elections. Elected officials and their families, including me and mine, will be banned from trading stocks and accepting gifts. Representatives’ pay will increase after their first term so more people can afford to serve, including people from Ohio.

We will hear opposing views on important public issues under restored broadcasting rules. News networks will face financial penalties for knowingly giving us false information or deceptive propaganda, including the news we receive here in Ohio.

We will protect our right to own what we buy and repair it. Whether it’s our phones, our cars, or equipment on an Ohio farm, this act will protect our ownership and repair rights instead of forcing us to lease what we need.
